About

Founded in 1988 by Suha Shoman, Darat al Funun is a “home for the arts”, and has become a meeting place for artists, a hub for artistic practices, experimentation and critical discourse, and an oasis for researchers and fellows. Housed in six renovated historical buildings and warehouses, with a restored archaeological site in the garden, it creates a unique encounter between art, architecture, archaeology, and landscaping.
